What is Flitto?
Flitto is a crowdsourcing translation app. Okay, you’re probably wondering what that means. It means that the app uses crowdsourcing to offer translation services for several languages.
Thus, you can share text, voice and images on the app and native speakers will translate them for you. Beyond that, Flitto can translate Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Weibo of celebrities you follow.
With more than 10 million users globally, the app provides a simple way to read content in your language. Best of all, it’s free.
If you are bilingual, you can use your skills to provide translations on the app in exchange for points.
How does the app work?
You can use the app on your smartphone or via the website,. We’ll go through the process of registering for the app later.
The app works simply. If you are a registered member, you can add brands and stars you follow and you will get their updates from various social media on your feed. Amazingly, the updates will be in your language regardless of the language they were written in.
So, if you are a fan of the popular Chinese actress, Zhao Lusi, then you can follow her social media accounts (if you’re not already following her). Best of all, with Flitto, you can read, listen to or watch her in your language.
If you need a translation of something specific, you can tap the red pencil icon to share the image, text or voice file.
Next, choose the language you want your file translated into, then make your request. Decide how many points you will give the person that translates for you.
Flitto does not just support the translation of words or sentences, but you can translate full documents to 20+ supported languages.
